In trendy Amsterdam-Noord, the former warehouse at Asterdwarsweg 1 is undergoing a remarkable transformation into Mama Shelter Amsterdam: a sustainable hotel currently under development.
The project includes the addition of an eight-story hotel building to an existing warehouse, with the ‘public’ section of over 600 m² being completely renovated. This will feature an accessible restaurant and hotel facilities, while the remaining spaces will serve as parking and bicycle storage. The hotel, with approximately 150 rooms, will be designed to be structurally independent, placed within the existing warehouse, with a rooftop terrace on the top floor. Construction began in the third quarter of 2024, with completion scheduled for the first quarter of 2027. Mama Shelter Amsterdam will not only be a hotel but also a vibrant part of the local community, respecting the past and focusing on the future.
The hotel will be operated by our partner European Hotel Capital in collaboration with WHD.
